Germany's most produced assault gun at the height of the Eastern Front's severity. Chipped winter camouflage paint, full deck cargo. Extreme mud and rust weathering. Unique signed piece.
The StuG III was the most produced armored vehicle of the Wehrmacht and destroyed more enemy tanks than any other in the entire war. This model represents a unit from the Eastern Front during the winter-spring transition of 1943-44: the white winter whitewash begins to chip away, revealing the original Dunkelgrau underneath, while the mud of the rasputitsa (the Soviet spring thaw) covers the lower hull and tracks.
The engine deck is loaded with typical field equipment: jerry cans, ammunition boxes, rolled blankets, and a pickaxe. The Balkenkreuz on the side is painted over the whitewash, partially eroded.
Painting Technique
- Black primer
- Dunkelgrau base modulated with airbrush
- White wash – chipping effect with sponge
- Rust and corrosion with brown/orange pigments
- Rasputitsa mud with texture paste + real dirt
- Black-brown enamel pin wash
- Deck cargo painted with Vallejo acrylics
The StuG III Ausf. G was the most numerous variant, with over 7,800 units manufactured.
